In December 1969, manga Doraemon rising continuously in 6 monthly children's magazine titles. Magazines are Yoiko magazine (both children), Yōchien (kindergarten), Shogaku Ichinensei (class 1 SD), Shogaku Yonnensei (4th grade), and since 1973 the magazine Shogaku Gogensei (class 5 SD) and Shogaku Rokunensei (class 6 SD). Stories contained in the magazines is different, which means that the author must write this story more than 6 stories each month. In 1979, CoroCoro Comic magazine was launched as Doraemon.

Since first appearing in 1969, Doraemon stories have been collected and divided into 45 books published since 1974 until 1996, and has sold more than 80 million books in 1992. In addition, in 2005, Shōgakukan publish a series of additional volumes amounting to 5 with the title of Doraemon + (Doraemon Plus), with the stories of 45 different original volume.
